Summary | 0009051: More obvious indication re. whether user has Gold functionality activated | ||||
Description | During the course of v3 --> v4 upgrades, many users are confused as to whether they have Gold functionality active or not (e.g. user with a Lifetime license doesn't realize that Gold features are active). This is due to the fact that: a) the versions.xml upgrade link goes directly to the download page which has Gold upgrade links which makes the user think that an upgrade is required b) the software itself doesn't have an obvious indication that MediaMonkey Gold features have been activated Some ideas: 1) The upgrade notification should trigger links to different download pages depending on whether the current Gold license is compatible with the upgrade. This may be too complicated to implement, so a possible alternative could be to provide all users with a download page that doesn't have any 'Gold' upgrade messaging AND in the client installer warn users when appropriate that upgrading to the new version will require a new license because the current license is incompatible. e.g. | ||||
