Summary | 0009274: Tracks play out of order on devices (CD/MP3 players) without playlist support
Description | When tracks are burnt/synced they don't necessarily sync/burn to an album directory in the order of tracks on the album or in the order of the playlist, causing tracks to play out of order when they are listened to (assuming the device doesn't support a DB or playlists). This is especially true when auto-conversion is enabled for the sync/burn operation. A possible solution would be that for syncs and burns, any: -Playlists should be burnt/synced to the device in the order of the playlist -Tracks within an album should be burnt/synced in the order of the tracks on the album There are a couple of problems that may arise though: a) Playlists change over time and subsequent syncs (if we implement the above logic) won't respect the order of the playlist. To get around this, there would need to be an option to resync the device from scratch. b) This feature assumes that all tracks within an Album/Playlist are synced to a single directory--it wouldn't work otherwise. This is probably a reasonable limitation. I believe that most devices today support playlists and/or reading of Track# tags, and that the feature shouldn't be a very high priority for synchronization.
