Summary | 0009434: Making changes to local files lacking appropriate rights leads to confusing elevation prompt
Description | If the user performs certain automated tasks (e.g. podcast subscription, auto-organize, etc.) that trigger changes to a directory to which the user doesn't have required admin access rights, then an elevation prompt results. This will often look like a bug to users, even though it isn't. To eliminate confusion, it might be useful to present an error dialog such as: [Warning icon] Administrative rights are required to modify '<file>'. [ ] Don't show this again
Additional Information | Note: original suggestion was: Admin account is needed in order to modify 'c:\folder\file'. Do you wish elevate rights? [ ] In the future, do not ask me [Yes] [No] I changed the approach because this approach would: a) require 2 approvals re. elevation b) result in a situation where if the user clicked 'No'/In the future do not ask me, various functions would fail for no apparent reason.
