Summary | 0009507: No playback device Notification
Description | Whenever the there is a problem with playback device MM do not notify user that there is a problem with playback device but rather just skips thrum playlist and grays all the tracks. That is not correct behavior as uses complain about an error in MM instead of searchingroot of problem elswhere. Examples: 1. No sound card available or driver is corrupted. System sounds may work but other apps than WMP may have issues to access Device Mixer driver and/or DirectSound/WASAPI resulting in no playback device available and MM output plugin can't allocate playback device. 2. As most common internal motherboard sound cards on desktop PCs are Realtek ALC??? sound chips. Its driver have ability to disable actual devices when nothing is connected to the back/front panels which result listing No playback devices available (Right click on volume tray icon Playback devices -> right click on Device listing and select both Show disconnected/Disabled devices
