We should review the logic of assigning Podcasts to the Library. Maybe Delete rules should automatically be overrode for all Podcasts picked up by MMW scanner (i.e. not Subscribed manually in MMW)? |
We could apply deletion rules only apply to subscriptions that are downloaded by MMW, but that could be confusing in some cases, so I wonder whether it would make sense to show a confirmation dialog? e.g. [x] Confirm deletion (recommended) [this string already exists) --> Update Podcast ============== Settings: Delete episodes older than %s Are you sure you want to delete: [ ] <Podcast>-<Title> 1 [ ] .. [ ] .. [Delete] [Cancel] Note: all of the above strings already exist. |
In order to simplify things, we probably could leave out the 'Settings: Delete episodes older than %s' part. |
I think that we don't need to do much about it as we have done some steps in 4.1 to prevent this from happening: 1) we changed the defaults to not delete any episodes - 0011371 2) we made the options always visible on the subscription dialog - 0011409 Also I think that the rules should not be applied until user enters the podcast url to the subscription dialog to become the podcast "live" (from gray to purple) |
Fixed in build 1673. i.e. delete rules are applied only for subscribed podcasts (purple color). The unsubscribed (gray color - without entered podcast URL) are untouched by the rules. |
