Summary | 0010609: Installing MMIP files via D&D should trigger 'Install' instead of 'Copy'
Description | Currently, if the user attempts to install an MMIP extension by dragging it onto MM, MM shows 'Copy'. It should show 'Install' instead.

Could you give me more info, I cannot find where MM shows 'Copy' ? Once I drag it onto MM then "Product Installation" dialog appears. Tested MM 4.1.1626 skinned/skinless, Win 7 |
|
Try as follows: In Windows explorer, click and hold down mouse button on an MMIP file. Drag the file onto MM's player (don't release the mouse button) --> An icon for the MMIP file is displayed next to the cursor along with '+ Copy' I'm suggesting that it should indicate 'Install' instead of '+ Copy'. |

Aha, I tried the same from Total Commander, therefore I could not replicate it. I am afraid that it is up to Windows Explorer, but I will try to adjust it. |
|
It is up to Windows Explorer what it is showing for the particular Drop Effects. e.g. If I drag from Total Commander it shows just "+" sign There are 4 drop effects: Copy, Move, Link, Scroll : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms693457(v=vs.85).aspx I can change to "Move" or "Link", but I guess it doesn't help. Maybe the "Link" is the most appropriate for this action? |

Fixed in build 1627. Per IM discussion, changed to "Link" for MMIP |

Verified 1627. |
