Summary | 0010815: Album Art isn't synced according to sync settings (Device Profile in MMW)
Description | When wifi syncing files with embedded Art and having the Device Profile either force embed or with no options enabled in Options > Tagging there still is an Artwork file synced to the device. This is especially troublesome if files aren't sorted to an Album folder. A user has also reported seeing albumart.thm on the device after sync.
Steps To Reproduce | With 126 nearly all my tracks are missing the embedded Art after wifi sync instead showing the same Artwork file (files are all synced to root <Playlist> folder).

Per IM discussion, we will upload AA files even if disabled by user, but it will be to an internal folder. |

Could reasoning be explained as this will surely raise user questions. |
MMA currently does _not_ read tags directly, is uses Android metadata services. This will probably change soon in the future, but until then MMA must have some means of retrieving artwork. |
Thanks! Does this mean that it is best to set MMW to remove embedded Art if user uses MMA (exclusively) as this will reduce file sizes (especially with large art) until MMA is able to read embedded Art? |
Yes, in case the artwork really is large. |
Verified 132. |
On 133 the Artwork setting is respected (no external Artwork on device), but 2 problems with the new implementation were seen: 1) Artwork isn't removed (from internal MMA storage) when files are removed. 2) If embedded over x size is set to be removed they are also not synced to MMA internal storage (no Artwork shown in MMA). |
3) Thumbnail cache also doesn't have artwork for removed files removed. |
4) Another user has indicated that artwork is appearing in the Gallery as of build 136 http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/posting.php?mode=reply&f=21&t=71841 |

1) fixed in build 153 - artworks are cleaned up after each sync (not immediately) 2) I cannot reproduce it. I tried both big size and small size limit. Artworks were synced in both cases. (build 152) 3) what do you mean by thumbnail cache? How can I reproduce it? |
1) Works for me too now 2) This no longer seems to happen 3) No longer see thumbnail cache being generated, thus no issue with removal |
