| Description | Currently there is some cases of tree nodes where view can be optimized and navigation made easier and more logical. As What tree nodes are shown is set/defined in Collection options I propose to make small adjustment to Tree Nodes Settings of Collection by adding customizable Subnode and ability to group tree node. Like Album is subnode of Artist Main tree node and like Title is grouped into First letter. Benefit Examples: Album -> Artist = Where in case of compilations when you expand Album you will be able to Select Artists from that Album Album -> Disk # = Where see only tracks from Specific Disk Title -> Artist = Where it will be shown what artists were performed that title Series -> Season# = Where in case of TV Series Season is more important Balsamiq Mockup file is uploaded on FTP | ||||

You know that all your examples (and many, many more) could be realized with Magic Nodes add-on, right? |

I prefer to handle this by: 1. Less tree nodes-based navigation and better in-view navigation - as already to some degree implemented in MM5. 2. Custom scripts for more specific scenarios. |

You are right, maybe we should even allow scripts to control Sub Tree nodes by allowing them to be registered in Sub Tree Column (From Design), that would cover both 1 and 2 3. Scripts used to create custom Tree nodes would be more easily integrated into Sync profiles as UI would be more unified and more intuitive |

NOTE: if subnode is selected and that subnode have settings as Node it would show it as subnode according to settings used for collection root node even it is not shown . It would allow multiple levels without complicating settings. CollectionOptions.jpg (94,123 bytes) |
