Summary | 0011163: Media Sharing config can be confusing users accessing it via the sync profile
Description | When users are in the Device Profile panel, and click the 'MediaMonkey Library' link to the Media Sharing config panel, the panel displays various items that aren't relevant to synchronization but implies that they are, leading to confusion. The following proposal is designed to eliminate those ambiguities: Tabs when viewed via Device Config: Server | Shared Content Tabs when viewed via Media Sharing config: UPnP/DLNA | Server | Shared Content | Auto-Conversion Server --------- Server Name: _____ IP address: ______ Port: _______ [ ] Accept external IP addresses Status: ... ... ... Shared Content ----------------------- As is, except that the following is hidden when accessed via Device Config: [ ] Show index for categories with many entries: _250_ UPnP/DLNA ------------------ [ ] Update play counter for items played over UPnP [ ] Share automatically with all new devices Devices ... ... [Options] Auto-Conversion --------------------------------- As is. Other Minor Tweaks/fixes: 1) Title bar should show 'Media Sharing (<ServerName>)' instead of just 'Media Sharing' 2) In the per device configuration, '[ ] Show index for categories with many entries:' a) is missing the value for the number of entries b) can be enabled/disabled even if 'Customize for this device' is disabled.

Fixed in build 1653. Note that I moved the '[ ] Accept external IP addresses' below the 'Status' list to improve the context. It really belongs there because status list shows which IPs has been accepted and which were denied. If it would be above the status box as suggested then one could think that it is somehow related to the server IP/Port above which isn't. Re 2): This was just a visual tweak, '[ ] Show index for categories with many entries:' should be visible only in case of server config (is not customized per client). |
