Playback was stopped because of low memory. Android stops unnecessary services when low memory situation occurs. Btw. this is also caused by not highest possible priority of playback service. But highest possible priority cannot be set without visible notification...so MMA has highest priority only on background. Do you observe this also when MMA is on background? |
Ok I took your advice and results are: Always MMA gets low priority when started from Shortcut without opening in Notification first. It stops almost each time after first track, sometimes after several seconds when screen is off, randomly during >2 Min. sync (only twice on 10+ syncs) almost never if I start Playback from Widget -> Open MMA from Widget -> Press Off button to screen off or leave to idle timer set screen off or even press Home and leave/press of to make screen off. memory usage is always around 50-120MB Free no matter if MMA was in Notification or not, just above steps matters to let MMA never stops playback. |

Tested on Sony Xperia Pro (512 MB RAM) running ICS, and could not replicate (same with S3, and Nexus 7). |
Note: LG have 384MB of ram and memory management improved in JB 4.1.2 where on ICS I had 60-80MB free avg., but on JB I have 100-125MB avg. |
Fixed by better playback management in 1.1 in build 322 |
Not relevant to newer devices 2+GB is standard and Android OS handle background Activity |
