Summary | 0011209: Some Devices when connected can leave Ghost CD drive entry in Tree
Description | Some Devices Like LG L5 Check If PC have USB Driver Installed and during check it connects itself temporary as installer Device (eg. CD ROM Containing Drivers) MMW correctly Handle and detect Device, Add it to Tree, But after Drive Gets Disconnected MMW do not Remove Device From Tree as Device is still Connected to System but now using MTP protocol. Logs are on FTP NOTE: As Ludek Pointed on IM and tests confirmed, this is not regression as it is also present in 4.0.7.

Tech note: MM considered it as a media CD, because it includes unplayable Progress.avi file Fixed in build 1656 by ignoring such a drive (not shown in the tree at all). Note: We could debug further why the virtual media CD is not unmouted, but the ignoring is fine for now (was done regressionless) |

As pointed by Ludek he fixed the issue by using workaround to ignore such drives. I can confirm the fix with SVN compiled MEDIAMONKEY.EXE I uploaded Small Video (from 1655) On FTP that clearly shows MMW behavior when Phone gets connected and until MTP connection is started. Note: Along side MMW There is Open Windows Explorer window to See same behavior and be able to compare. Assigned to you for feedback and Triage if needed. |

Verified 1656 Ignore workaround is working, will open new bug if user complain that Drives do not show but this can only happen if you have external USB/eSata drive, CD inserted and you physically disconnect drive before you eject CD. |
