Summary | 0011274: Service: UPnP Service fails for some content due the permissions
Description | Currently, when the user configures the UPnP Server as a service, it is installed based on the currently logged in user's credentials. This is problematic if the server is to serve content from multiple users accounts. There should be ability that MMW Service is installed under different Credentials not just credentials from current user. Eg add ability to enter Service Owner username and not just password allowing MMW service to be owned by Administrator. Which status can be easily controlled by any user. Additionally if Service is started by other user even administrator users without Administrator privilege should not be able to Install/Uninstall service

As User pointed in topic: "If you want to have the same settings (UPnP name for example) when running via a service as when you launch MMW manually, then you have to run the service as the user that you'd normally log in as because there are certain MMW settings that relate to the user. You may have to give that user "Logon as a service" permissions as well." |

Resolved as 'no change required', service is supposed to be installed on the user account so that it shares/loads the user's MM settings. If there is really a need for the use case to run the service on another account, then he can workaround it by editing MediaMonkeyService in the windows services (WinKey -> Services -> MediaMonkeyService -> Log on). |
