Rusty, I agree that this is not clear at all, probably should be part of the WiFI sync Wizard suggested by users here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=74020 ? |

Documentation isn't the right fix for this. The correct fix is to: a) present an error to the user on synchronization e.g. 'The following content can not sync because it hasn't been shared:' b) minimize the possibility of error by preventing the situation from arising by: i) not displaying items that aren't fully shared in the auto-sync list ii) displaying a warning when configuring auto-sync lists that conflict with sharing rules: "The following content will not be able to sync because it hasn't been shared:' iii) displaying a warning when configuring sharing rules that conflict with auto-sync lists: "The following content will not be able to sync because it hasn't been shared:" In the absence of a fix, it can be documented. |

Ok, I believe that the description of the issue is incorrect The issue is not that non-shared content cannot be WiFi synced (it can), but the content cannot be configured in MMA for sync. i.e. If one adds 'Music' collection that is not shared on sync-list in MMW then it works to WiFi, but if one wants to add the non-shared 'Music' collection on sync-list in MMA then the 'Music' is not visible (MMA -> Sync Location/Settings -> Auto-sync server content). So I guess that it could help if the non-shared nodes would be just grayed out there? But this probably wouldn't help much, because it is not clear why are grayed out, so I guess that documentation entry will be needed. |

Strange, wifi sync wasn't syncing some Playlists (not shared) and once shared they were syncing again. |
|
So to be clear, we're talking about cases such as: 1 user disabled sharing of videos on server last month 2 one month later he want to add videos clollection to sync-list via MMA --> but he can't OR 1 MMW user disabled sharing for Collection: Videos 2 MMW user selected Videos to be shared in MMW auto-sync list 3 MMA user, a month later, wants to change which Videos are synced -->he doesn't have access to the Video content in the auto-sync list, and So to the user it _looks_ like the content is shared, even though it isn't. I still think that UI feedaback (supported by documentation) would be the way to go. We can't use the Greyed out approach (since if the content isn't shared, it shouldn't be browsable). BUT displaying a warning at the server-side config would at least warn the server's owner of the problem. i.e.: Display a warning when an MMW user changes sharing rules for the 'MediaMonkey Library' UPnP profile from complete to partial: "Content that isn't shared can't be remotely configured for Wi-Fi Sync. Are you sure you want to make this change?" [Yes] [No] [ ] Don't show this again We can add this in the future. In the short term, I'll update documentation. |

I will have to retest but in my experience content not shared in Media Sharing wasn't synced on wifi sync despite being selected to do so in the Device Profile in MediaMonkey. No attempt to do any configuration in MMA was made. |

I tested it several times and also revised the code and I guess it must be your test error. i.e. Even if I unchecked all playlists in DLNA Shared Content tab, the playlists that are selected on sync-list are still synced over WiFi (as expected). |

No longer see issues with syncing unshared content. |
