fyi: there are still periodic reports in reviews that artwork is missing for some tracks. Could this bug be occurring for other characters as well? |
Based on the other info/log from the ticket GUQ-979384 the issue is not caused by ††† chars, it was just coincidence, the real reason is that the sync location cannot be accessed via MTP for that user, I also tried to sync album with ††† chars (tested on Galaxy Nexus) without issues. Resolving as 'unable to reproduce' until we have more info |
The user reformatted the SD card and remounted and now he can transfer music there without issues, to be covered by KB article |
Added at: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=10 btw, can MMA give more feedback than 'There was a problem...'? e.g. if the UI communicated the fact that: -the connection to the device was broken -the file could not be written to the device -the file couldn't be converted etc. then there wouldn't be a need for a KB article |
That would be nice. I get a track convert failure on each sync, but I assume it is duplicates that due to duplicate filename aren't synced (desired result). |
There doesn't seem to be anything to improve ATM. - If file failed to convert then there is "Conversion of file %s failed" - If the file failed to copy, there is "Problem while copying file %s to %s" If there is a copy failure then MM almost always doesn't know why it failed, it returns either an unspecified MTP error code or a file system error, but MM cannot know whether SD card needs to be formated or whether it is e.g. driver issue, Windows Explorer also doesn't give you more info when a file fails to copy. Lowlander, if you get convert failure then it indeed most probably was a convert failure (is the file convertable using Convert Files?), the error message re the duplicate filenames was removed and left just as debug message as it was quite irritating, see 0006219:0038025 |
