Summary | 0011900: Format: Better handling of Corrupted and Incorrect files
Description | Currently, format plugins report back to MMW if Track is in right format or not by returning -2. Unfortunately there is no reference within MMW Library about the reason why that file is not imported/played/... or why it crashed MMW. The solution would be to add track to library and add additional table where we will store such files for later fixing revision by user within FILES TO EDIT -> CORRUPTED FILES Table would contain Index so that MMW Player can easily be noted about such files and skip them until they are fixed.

Peke, could you be more descriptive and add some examples. You probably mean importing MP3 file with incorrect file extension (like MP4)? |
|
Although it is investigated as 0012860 it more fall under this bug due the fact that track is playable but completely incorrectly read due the fact it is WMA not MP3. As soon as extension is corrected MMW imports correct file length and info. Added related Ticket ID to Info (QKO-.......) to Info |

I don't think that having corrupted files in library is a good idea. I guess that current scan log is enough. i.e. after scanning there is "Scan results" dialog with [View log] button showing exactly which files failed to import. |
