| Summary | 0011937: Selection of folders for bi-dir sync is not intuitive | ||||
| Description | There are some situations when selection of bi-directional folders is not intuitive. 1) User connects device via wifi only. I.e. following folders are shown in Auto-sync (--> Library) tab: [x] Auto-sync new files... > [x] Music > [x] Audiobooks > [x] Classical > [x] Podcasts > [x] Video > [x] Music Video > [x] Podcasts > [x] TV Now I think that it looks like everything should be synced from device to MMW. But the user has to add folder like DCIM manually to sync videos from device. I think that there should be some "Root" checkbox. 2. There is a possibility how to upload everything but I don't know whether it is a desired and intuitive way. When user deselects all folders, everything is uploaded to MMW. This might be fixed on MMA side but should I ? | ||||

1. At 0011941, Ludek suggested that this can be fixed by automatically including all Library folders. An alternative would be to present all Library folders and allow the user to choose which ones to sync. e.g. Auto-sync device content Select items in this location to sync with the server. | | --> Library Folders <List of Library folders> Note: list should be the same as those that are enabled in the 'Choose library folders' dialog. The only problem is that in MMW, there doesn't seem to be any limitation re. what folder can be chosen since MMW isn't aware of what folders are part of the MMA library. I'm not sure of the best way to resolve that, but in either case, the settings must be synced with those in MMW. 2. The possibility of uploading everything be not selecting anything is definitely a bug. However we resolve it, the config between MMA/MMW must be in sync. |
