Set as urgent to see if we can influence Volume Mixer at all? |
Peke, I can change volume in MM even if I lowered MM volume on the mixer. In MM there is just no visual indication of the changed mixer volume, but adjusting volume on MM player works to adjust volume also on the system mixer (for the MM slider) Or did you mean adjusting the Device "Headpones" master slider? |
OK, I guess I know what is the difference, I tested the default WASAPI audio output plugin, but you probably tested Direct Sound? Based on my tests "WASAPI" and "Wave Out" output plugins works to adjust the mixer's volume, but "Direct Sound" does not. |

You are right most likely it is due the auto fall down to Direct sound if WASAPI fail on Windows default WDM driver for HD Audio as I explained in ticket. I'll Update KB article accordingly. EDIT: KB Article http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/88/0/no-sound-is-playing--sound-is-corrupted to cover both cases |
