Summary | 0001332: Better sharing between Advanced Searches and Advanced AutoPlaylists
Description | Per user feedback, users sometimes want to use an AutoPlaylist to generate a search, or a search to generate an AutoPlaylist. This can be accomplished via the following change: -In the Search Panel add a 'Save as AutoPlaylist...' button between OK and Cancel -In the AutoPlaylist Panel: --change 'OK' to 'Save AutoPlaylist' --add a 'Search' button between 'Save AutoPlaylist' and Cancel Setting as 'urgent' on the assumption that this is trivial to implement.
Additional Information | Raised at: http://www.songs-db.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1487 Related usecase that this would solve: http://www.songs-db.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1375 This feature will satisfy the usecase even more once 0001331 is resolved (however, 0001331 isn't a necessary precursor to solving this).

I think that the button would unnecessarily clutter the dialog, I would rather create a context menu entry visible for auto-playlists and search node that would open the 'Save Playlist' dialog letting user to save the selected item under another name. Rusty: I really like your idea of having a 'Save as AutoPlaylist...' context entry, though I think that the original idea of having this as a button in the search dialog makes sense (and wouldn't be too visually cluttered). Can we try implementing both? |

Fixed in build 812. - The pop-up menu entry was implemented. |

Verified contex-menu functionality in 812. It works, but it satisfies the requirement in a manner that requires the user to go through many extra/unnecessary steps. I've opened a new bug 0001637 to track this. |
