Summary0001351: Portable Device: Organize playlists for devices that don't support .m3u
DescriptionMany devices do not have .m3u support, and for these, some other means is needed to be able to listen to playlists in the desired order. The following changes to the Portable Device configuration would enable this.

The first new option: Copy Playlist to individual subdirectories would simply copy all the tracks within a playlist to a directory named by the playlist. e.g.
if: 'If unspecified, copy tracks to:' = \My Music\<Artist>\<Track>
==>Contents of 'Favorite Rock' would be copied to: \My Music\Favorite Rock\<Artist>\<Track>
(i.e. the <Playlist> directory would be inserted immediately preceding the first instance of a 'dynamic' mask component).

If 'Prefix Filenames with play order' was enabled: then the actual tracks (e.g. trackmask.mp3) would appear as ###.trackmask.mp3. Note: it's important that ### be used (i.e. if number 1 then 001) so that tracks sort correctly on all devices).

The Portable Device Options Panel would look like:
. [x] Copy .m3u playlists
. . . . Destination Directory __________________ [Browse]
. [ ] Copy playlist contents to individual subdirectories
. . . . [x] Prefix filenames with Play Order

Note: I propose retaining this functionality for 2.3 since it applies to both Portable Device Synchronization and MP3 CD burning.

This issue is superceded by bug 0001969 which history shows is a more valuable means of synching flash devices for most users.
