Summary | 0013587: Occasional reports of playlist content being deleted
Description | A user reported a case of a sync with MMA deleting all source playlist content from MMW at: TMN-542-98715 I've once experienced MM 1.2.0.614 emptying all playlist contents after running MMA following an OS update, but we were unable to replicate the issue or even confirm that it wasn't a test error, and the associated debug log was somehow not uploaded. Supposing that there is a bug in which MMA in some scenario removes playlist content, there is a danger that permanent data loss can occur: 1 Playlist tracks are removed from playlists (due to a presumed bug in MMA), even though the playlists remain 2 MMA syncs with MMW --> Empty playlists from MMA are synced to MMW causing all of the original playlist content to be deleted! If we're not able to replicate or solve the presumed bug, we may want to consider possible workarounds to prevent a possible data loss scenario. Possible workarounds: 1) if a playlist is completely empty, should the playlist be deleted so that it will be resynced on subsequent sync operations? 2) if a playlist is completely empty (i.e. no tracks or child playlists), should MMA/MMW assume that it shouldn't be synced?
