Summary | 0013927: ALAC: MMW should detect ALAC extension as M4A and play it.
Description | Even .ALAC is not an official extension but I have seen many user reports that MMW do not recognize and play them. I can confirm taht they are also non playable in AIMP which like MMW play them without any issue when renamed to .M4A Would it be to problematic to add playback support for .ALAC file in Codec Pack/MMW?

Assigned to Michal for evaluation, but doesn't seem to be much important as based on my tests (Windows 7 ) the ALAC isn't associated by default with _any_ media application. But can be manually associated with WMP, iTunes or MediaMonkey. |

Fixed in build 1826. No need to change codec pack, ALAC support is already in MMW. |
|
Just to clarify fix. You only added .ALAC to supported format of MMW ALAC plugin so that it is recognized and playable even with Drag and Drop or? |
|
Added to alac decoder plugin as supported extension, so it can decode it, and to f_mp4 plugin, so it can be parsed and tagged the same way as m4a (as it is in fact m4a). |

Thx for clarification, so it is fixed and correctly implemented resolving for testing implementation in 1826. |
