Summary | 0014116: Wasted space in Browser views
Description | Browser views that display both images and tracks (e.g. Artist, Genre, etc.) sometimes display sub-optimally because there may be only 1 album in a row, causing a lot of wasted white space. In addition, if we eliminate Detailed Tracklists in browser views (as proposed in item c) at 0014113 ), the need for a wide view is diminished. On the other hand, a 2-column approach could be too wide for some users (e.g. if they display MM in half their window). With all of the above in mind, it could be a good idea to implement views that display images (e.g. Albums, Artists,) side by side with Tracks (rather than above/below tracks). It was decided to experiment with this approach for now, and that it's likely that even if we do go this route, it's likely that configuration options will be needed to allow users to switch between single column / two column approaches for the browser view.

Added the second Browser layout for Artist view - for testing purposes. |

There were quite a significant changes recently, particularly re. customizable Browser views. It also eliminated the side-by-side Top Tracks I implemented in Artist view, but it probably isn't that important. Assigning to Rusty to review whether this issue is still relevant or will be closed/deferred. |
