Summary | 0014226: Chromecast: 'Skipped to remote...' on playback of M4A tracks
Description | When playing certain m4a tracks, a 'Skipped to remote current track' error occurs, and the track is skipped. The problem is: a) it's unclear why m4a tracks are skipped (afaik, m4a/aac tracks are supported). Moreover the tracks in question play fine over the chromecast using BubbleUPnP. b) the message is completely ambiguous. MMA already has a message for unsupported content types. Debug log: HQLGIYDNDX Note: the problem occurs consistently on a Nexus 5x running Android 7 (note that the track plays fine on the device when not chromecasting). Strangely, though, an S5 Mini running Android 6 doesn't exhibit the problem.

Build 707 exhibits this behavior again: 1 Stop playback, turn on chromecasting (in order to avoid 0014278 ) 2 Click 'Cecilia' in Now Playing --> 'Cecilia' plays --> 'Edge of Seventeen' plays --> 'Royals [Lorde]' is skipped (it's an m4a track)!! Note that 'skipped to remote' message doesn't appear--in fact no message appears. --> 'Big Log (full version)' plays Debug log: W7LNWZ4PTQ |
|
This problem still occurs with build 708 using the track 'Royals [Lorde]', though it doesn't seem to occur with all .m4a tracks. I've uploaded this particular track to the ftp server. |
