Summary | 0014543: Shuffle: results in slow performance / UI delays / instability
Description | If shuffle is enabled and the user plays a playlist of 300 tracks --> various performance-related problems. 0 Initiate playback and enable shuffle mode 1 Press forward 10x (or back 10x) --> Either of the following occurs - UI gets stuck as tracks advance - Tracks advance, but at the 10th track MM takes about 30 seconds to initiate playback of the new track 2 Press forward 5x, back 5x, forward 5x, back 5x --> "MediaMonkey isn't responding" Do you want to close it? 3 Enable chromecasting. This results in even worse problems--while chromecasting, there are strange error messages / and even worse behavior (only when shuffle is enabled). 4 Press Forward 2x, Back 2x (and repeat if needed) --> "Skip to remote current track" error occurs and tracks may start skipping (this doesn't occur when shuffle isn't enabled) Note: aside from the fact that the error occurs, the message is totally confusing/unclear. If you can explain what it means, I can suggest better wording. 5 Press forward 10x OR Back 10x --> UI becomes non-responsive / stuck on a particular track --> A particular track (or pair of tracks) will appear repeatedly. e.g. Press back 6x --> track f, e, d, f, e, d appear instead of f, e, d, c, b, a.
Additional Information | Note: this issue also occurs in 737--I'm not sure when it was introduced.

The issue described at step 5 is still occurring. i.e. press back 10x about once per 1/2 second (with shuffle enabled) --> A particular track (or pair of tracks) will appear repeatedly. e.g. Press back 6x --> track f, e, d, f, e, d appear instead of f, e, d, c, b, a. Also, 'Skip to remote current track' text needs to change. |
