Summary | 0014573: Scanning the active folder is very cumbersome
Description | A fairly common usecase is that a user is browsing a folder and notices content missing and decides to initiate a scan of that folder. In MM4, this is easy: if the user selects a Folder (in Library or My Computer) and then used the scan function, the scan dialog includes the selected/active folder in the scan. In MM5 though, this isn't the case--the dialog opens and the user must manually choose the folder to scan. A simple fix would be to include the selected folder below the configured folders (on a one-time basis). e.g.: Selected folder: [x] D:\My Documents\My Music\...active folder... Note: There is a second related issue that the user can't configure the child folder of a configured folder to be scanned. e.g. If there's an entry for D:/My Documents/Music in the scan dialog, and the user wants to add an entry for D:/My Documents/Music/Beatles , then the only way to do so is by deselecting /My Music! This is mainly an issue if the user wants to just do a one-time scan the /Beatles (without scanning the rest of the library). This issue should resolve itself once: a) the issue above is fixed b) the changes to Choose folders functionality in which it only displays the folders selected that are associated with the active entry in the add/scan dialog (bug #13439)
