| Summary | 0016002: Sync: Initiall sync can lead to no tracks synced and report that everything is in sync. | ||||
| Description | Case 1: If User Install MM, scan library and then install MMA on Android, Connect device to MM over USB and press Auto Sync Nothing is synced (As expected) Case 2: If User Install MM, scan library and then install MMA on Android, use Sync Now to go thru wizard to make WiFi sync (accept WiFi control from device), and on Sync simply press Sync Now He will get report that all is in sync. And Sync Selection is not shown anymore but user needs to go thru Options to select what to sync This should be improved in MM 5.1 in order to simplify process and to clearly inform user that in order to sync his Library he needs to select what he want to sync. In above cases we should possibly sync one simple MP3 track (distributed with MM) stating "Sync test pass! Please select what content from your MM Library you want to sync to device" which will be deleted automatically as soon user select what will be synced and do first real sync. | ||||

I think that the issue is really that, in MM5 sync config tabs: 'Auto-Sync (-->Device)' [for devices] OR 'Library Content' [for Services] MMA sync config: 'Auto-sync server content' could all be worded better to convey to the user that they need to select tracks to sync. Leaving it assigned to me for possible resolution in 5.0. |

How about if the user initiates a sync (in MMA or MM) and there are no tracks on the sync list: --> The Sync list is empty. Are you sure you want to proceed? [Sync] [Cancel] (note: the second phrase is an existing string). |

I suppose that is for 5.1 due to new strings involved? |
