Summary | 0001607: No way to easily tell if Album Art is in tag or not OR to change location between tag and link
Description | Many users will have tracks in which Album Art is stored to a directory, and other Album Art stored to tags. These users have: a) no way of easily determining where their album art is stored b) no way to easily change the storage of album art from tag to file or vice versa for a single file c) no way to easily change the storage of album art from tag to file or vice versa for multiple tracks OR the entire collection (which is important if the tracks are to be exported) There is a suggested implementation for this in items (1) and (2) of /UI Mockups/Album_art.pdf on the ftp server. We may be able to push this for now, but it will become an issue as devices start supporting Album Art. Alternatively, we may decide to limit this flexibility and instead treat Album Art in a manner similar to how we treat tags (as described in 0001633).

a) When user moves mouse on a thumbnail in Properties dialog it's shown there the dimensions of the image and where is it stored. It isn't perfectly visible this way, on the other hand it doesn't occupy unnecessarily any screen space. b&c) I agree that this might be useful sometimes, but I don't think it should be in 2.3, it's too complex for this version. |

Changing to 'urgent'. I agree--it can wait post 2.3. |

After further thought, this issue should not be fixed in the manner proposed. Location of Album Art is analagous to tag format and just as MediaMonkey doesn't provide the tools to view/change the tag format for individual files, it should not provide the means to move album art for individual files. What we need to do is provide a means of doing so on a global basis, as we do with Tags, and as is suggested in bug 0001633. |
