| Description | 1. Changing some views from Grid to List appear to user that MM5 looses sort. As shown in steps below and by MM5 implementation Artist tree node acts like "Artists & Album Artists" tree node in MM4, but sort do not comply to that, but to "Album Artist" tree node a) We should either change default sort for Artists List view to Artist -> Album -> Disk# -> Track# -> Title b) Keep it as is and make it easier for user to switch 2. Album Artist, Disk#, Track# not enabled columns by default. I think that default column enabled and order shown should be Title, Artist, Album, Album Artist, Disk#, Track#, ... | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Clean MM5 install after first start. Note after initial scan MM5 library should contain number of tracks. 1. Select Music tree 2. Change View from Grid -> List 3. Expand tree 4. Select Artists (they are shown sorted acceding) 5. Change View from Grid -> List 6. Default sort is Album Artist -> Album -> Disk# -> Track# -> Title and view columns are Title, Artist , Album,.... and Album Artist, Disk#, Track# are not even in enabled columns | ||||

You are most likely right as in MM5 we renamed "Artist and Album Artists" to just "Artist" Actual solution would be to have double sort mixed in. I would leave it for MM5.1 as things complicates with multiple main sorts eg. in this case Artist and Album Artist should be equal in sorting list view. Grid view is more robust to this behavior. |

The fact that sort order changes by view is by design since certain views can only support certain sorts. As to the issue that the default sort order includes columns that aren't displayed, it's not ideal, but mitigating steps were taken as described at 0015559. Please re-open if there's something else that I'm not understanding. |
