Summary | 0016387: USB Sync: multi-attribute Tagging options are ignored
Description | When performing a USB sync to an SD card / USB key, MM4 and MM5 ignore the Sync profile > Tagging settings [x] Use only the first Genre when multiple Genres exist [x] Use only the first value when multiple Artists / Composers exist
Steps To Reproduce | 1 Create a playlist with 3 files (1 with multipl genres, 1 with multiple artists, 1 with multiple artists and multiple genres) 2 Plug in a new usb key 3 Add the playlist to the auto-sync list and enable the two options above 4 Initiate USB sync --> when navigating the files via Folders > USB key > path, MM shows that both Genres and Artists fields on the device contain multiple attributes NOTE: If SDcard is in Question and it is inserted into device with MMA then MMA Imports .MMW file and corectly shows only one genre, where file tags as pointed above are just Copied from original file/MMW/MM5 library.

Note that this has been always the issue for USB sticks. Even in MM4 (before I joint MM team). The downside of the fix will be a little bit degraded sync performance (as the file needs to be copied to temp directory at first, then tagged with the single genre/artist value and then moved to the device). |

Verified 2229 For me speed decrease was <1% (<1s) on Local files (M.2 High Speed Drive) and around 2-3% (1s) on NAS files (FLAC) where large copy operations are done. Please test on lower spec PCs and close if satisfied. TEST: I have watched 50 Files sample on 500+ files sync operation. |
