Summary | 0016551: Global Search (advanced): breadcrumb displays redundant/duplicate information
Description | Global Search normally displays breadcrumbs correctly. But when the user switches via 'Switch to advanced', the breadcrumb displays redundant icons / duplicate search terms as described in items A) and B) below: 1 Global Search 'Beatles' in tab 1 --> Breacrumb: Home > [Search]: "beatles" 2 Switch to Advanced --> Breadcrumb: Home > [Search] > [Filter]:Any text contains "beatles" A) Shouldn't the [Search] icon be eliminated? It's redundant! 3 Switch to tab 2 4 Switch back to tab 1 --> Breadcrumb: Home > [Search] "Beatles" > [Filter]:Any text contains "beatles" --> Filter criteria is collapsed (I think that this is OK) B) Notice how the breadcrumb changed from step 2 above ("beatles' now appears twice). Shouldn't the [Search] icon be eliminated as in A) ? 5 Switch to Advanced --> Breacrumb: Home > [Search] > [Filter]:Any text contains "beatles" ! Note: B) is worse than A) but neither is critical. i.e. they can be pushed to 5.0.1 if it's not easy to fix.

Yes, B) is a bug Fixed in 2244 |
|
Due the issues in 2244 and search can you please test with 2245 I can't replicate. |
|
B) is resolved in 2245, but don't you think that A) should be as well? i.e. it's still a Search--just an 'advanced' search, so the search icon should just be replaced with the filter icon rather than having them appear redundantly (clicking the Search icon has no effect, and closing the filter causes them both to close, so there's really no purpose to the dual icons). Note: this isn't a high priority. |
