Summary | 0016784: No feedback to user about CD Lookup
Description | For this specific CD [cddb query 820f690a 10 150 31256 54486 87401 112609 138731 168121 192327 216154 240719 3947] MediaMonkey shows no confirmation or status that it's doing lookup nor a confirmation in failing to do so. Release is Dawg's Groove by The David Grisman Quintet which does have a result: https://musicbrainz.org/release-group/61ca9774-9d4d-4f6a-a788-145ec3317aa6

So I don't know what the bug actually is. I tried with a different Album (disc1 from: https://musicbrainz.org/release/03c6a77d-ba5b-4122-a8fe-83cc1bcd82c2) and it failed lookup on insert and when using Context Menu in Media Tree, but it worked when selecting the files and using lookup from their Context Menu: No Feedback on Lookup 2.zip Then I reinserted the disc by The David Grisman Quintet and it came back with the results automatically: No Feedback on Lookup 3.zip So I guess somehow MediaMonkey can fail to do the lookup. |

The release has no Disc ids in MusicBrainz : https://musicbrainz.org/release/979cf65d-8342-43be-8796-8113dbbe0426/discids But in the "No Feedback on Lookup 3.zip" I see that t MM5 was able to read the metadata from https://musicbrainz.org/ws/2/discid/8MhxtbmCP4SJuuLwz_EkXDrk3fc-?fmt=json where it does not list the releases, but directly the metadata that MM5 used. So it sounds to me that the issue is that MM5 does not automatically query the CD metadata sometimes for you (after changing the CDs in the drive), to be found why... ---------------------- EDIT: I cannot replicate the issue with not querying Freedb/MusicBrainz automatically after CD insertion (changing CDs in the drive). And the log "No Feedback on Lookup 2.zip" isn't complete, it is missing many debug messages which mostly happens when DbgView is started after MM5 start. Please generate new log, but be sure that DbgView is started _prior_ MM5. |

Verified 2260 Unable to replicate. |

Re Verified 2262 And based on user feedback current solution with MB and fallback to our FreeDB works fairly well. |
