Summary | 0001694: Lookup from Amazon: manual tag updates occur 'live' even though the user doesn't expect them to | ||||
Description | There's a bit of a usability issue with the Lookup from Amazon functionality in that when the user makes manual changes to track properties, they occur 'live' even though the user typically expects that they would have to click some sort of 'update' button in a dialog to achieve the desired effect. As a consequence, the User may press [Update] to trigger their changes to be updated, and cause their changes to be overwritten. The problem is rooted in the fact that: -users don't expect to edit the actual properties 'live' in a dialog such as this -it's unclear that the properties displayed are the actual properties of the track and that they are being edited live -the [Update] button implies that the button updates both the manual and Amazon-based changes This can be partially corrected by changing the text from 'Update' to 'Import' However, this isn't a perfect solution since it doesn't change user's expectations that they aren't actually editing the track.
