Summary0017724: Files with unset attributes can't be tagged or organized (regression)
DescriptionIn build 2331, when adding new files to the library, a 'File inaccessible' toast error often appears for tracks as they're added due to failed tag updates. Here's how I replicated (though as you'll see later in the bug, the problem can usually be replicated just by attempting to edit a track attribute for certain files):

0 In MM, default volume analysis/leveling settings, plus enable 'Automatically analyze volume of unanalyzed files (Audio)' (according to the user this may not even be necessary and errors occur when manually initiating volume analysis)
1 Navigate to Music > Location > Temp > test [List|List Folders, List Status Bar, Display folder content recursively]
2 Download a free album from bandcamp in flac format and extract to Music > Location > test > AlbumName
3 In MMW5, press INSERT
--> Content is scanned and automatically analyzed
--> Toast message appears indicating content is inaccessible !
4 Right click on a track
--> Tracks appear with Track Volume and Album Volume updated
5 Select a track and attempt to edit the Composer field
--> Tag update failed. PathX is inaccessible (though the database is updated correctly) !
6 Play tracks
--> They play correctly
7 Open tracks in Folders > ... Temp > test [Browser] and click Properties
--> Tracks appear with Track Volume and Album Volume and the Composer field NOT updated !

The user reported that this occurs with FLAC files from Bandcamp, however, a similar problem occurs with MP3 files as well.

Note:
- I can replicate the issues consistently, however, Peke has indicated that the issue doesn't occur for him so there may be some environmental aspect to the bug
- the track attributes in Windows Explorer do not show as Read-only or Hidden
- the issue doesn't occur in MM4 (with FLAC or MP3 files)

So it turns out that the issues for MP3 and FLAC files are different:
1) FLAC files fail to update for all tracks in the album (for files downloaded from bandcamp)
2) MP3 files fail to update if the tracks contain 'special' characters in the filename (e.g. '&' , '!', ',' ). Note: I thought that this issue had already been fixed, but can't seem to find the relevant bug.

I believe that the issues reported here are related to the issues reported at 0017726. I just tried to auto-organize the flac files here and MM5 moved them, but failed to update the database to point to the tracks' new location! Very strange...

Fixed in build 2332. It was regression introduced in MM5 at the very beginning of MM5 development. Tagging files with no file attribute set (i.e. without "A" attribute) could not be accessed for any writing.

Verified tagging and auto-organize in 2332 for this set of files. Closing.
