Summary | 0018556: When losing connection to a Chromecast device MM5 can fail to reconnect to it later
Description | In the last user's log from Ticket # 3131 - MM5 was casting to "Elizabeth's Speaker" for 24 hours - then network connection was lost for another day (24 hours) - once the user logged in again and tried to cast to "Elizabeth's Speaker" it has always failed until MM5 was restarted (while casting to the other device "Jennifer's Speaker" worked).

Verified 2522 Unable to replicate. Tried to replicate without success, while I could replicate in 2520 few times when confirming existance of bug. |
|
Tested 2522 as follows and the issue still occurs for me: 1 Play trackA to Chromecast - Dining Room --> track plays 2 Disconnect physical ethernet --> Chromecast connection error (player output switches back to 'internal'), but track continues playing (from the chromecast buffer) --> Wi-Fi automatically connects after 15s but chromecast stops playing once the buffer is exhausted about 2 minutes 3 Attempt to re-initiate playback of TrackB, TrackC to Chromecast - Dining Room --> Chromecast connection tone sounds upon setting output to the chromecast (i.e. there seems to be a connection formed) --> Decoding errors occur for each of the tracks 4 Attempt to play TrackB, TrackC to Chromecast - Kitchen --> Tracks play without any issues 5 Restart MediaMonkey 6 Attempt to re-initiate playback of TrackB, TrackC to Chromecast - Dining Room --> Tracks play as expected Debug log/video shared offline. |

In the log I see that your PC changed the IP from 192.168.0.48 to 192.168.0.61, but MM5 was serving the file still under the 192.168.0.48 -- so the file was unreachable by the Chromecast device. So the reason is known. |
|
Fixed in 5.0.2.2523 The cached serving IP is now correctly re-newed whenever the player was detected as inaccessible. |

Verified 2523. |
