Partial tests done yesterday/today a) No artifacts found on rendering even on quick changes of views/opening modals and also plugin that undock Now playing. b) For my ATi RX 570 rendering looks snappier and with smoother transitions. I Only noticed slight CPU utilization from 3%->5% when there is heavy Mouse use and selections which drops to 2% after stopping mouse or moving out of MM5 window. If compared to 2604 that is better as CPU utilization drops much faster than in 2604 when scrolling. c) as noted above CPU is within parameters with 1-2% increase from 2604 I compared with, but it is also smoother in transitions. RAM utilization is around 450 max in heavy use and after I left it 18h to stay opened it was 670MB on times (spiked few minutes), but as soon as I start using it was <450 so I see it normal. Test note: 4 DLNA devices accessing MM5 and there was some conversion involved. In comparison to 2604, 2607 Is more responsive than 2604 by 20% especially when doing lots of screen scrolling (even with Enabled smooth scrolling), but downside is that memory and CPU Usage on my system can be 1-2% higher on average around 3-5% when there is lots of Images to be rendered where 2604 was mostly on 1-2% with quick spikes to 7-8% when scrolling even with Smooth scrolling disabled. The end result is that average CPU usage us 2% higher, but experience and UI smoothness is 20% better. Memory Usage also increases in scrolling, but I also GPU Ram usage decreases which means that for storing Cached images my PC uses AMD infinity cache to cache static images to RAM instead of GPU RAM which as result user see as smoother UI behavior. Note: Will test d) and e) bit more as for a first testing iteration I tested prolonged usage and idle usage where leaks can easily be seen. |
