| Description | Some Podcast updates takes too much time or simply user stop being interested in updating them. There is no way to skip/delay frequency of updating without unsubscribing and loosing Update URL We should add option to correct/set update frequency per podcast subscription. Reason is that some users can get there is background tasks running dialog on MM close. | ||||

Can you please provide me with a feed that takes long time to update? In course of 0017080 we have already done number of optimizations. Namely if feed includes the newest episodes on the beggining (which is mostly the case except for 0018848 ) then the older episodes metadata already presented in the database are not parsed and skipped. As for the option to supress the podcast updates, I guess this can be done via a new checbox below [x] Customize subscription rules for this podcast -- [ ] Disable auto-updates for this feed Wording to be reviewed by Rusty. |

There is no specific feed that make issue, it just that all podcasts that have connecting issues make problems. For example my old podcast http://music.motiontraxx.com/episodes/motiontraxx.xml is down and sometimes result in socket 10060 (seehttps://www.isitdownrightnow.com/music.motiontraxx.com.html) It takes 30+ Seconds to update/show Error, other updates are stalled till then. I gues sthat Updating of podcast should also be multi theread. I would rather have Drop down with update time selection eg. "Do not update, 1 day, 7 days, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, ..." than simply On/Off |

I don't think that this is really needed, if the feed link is down then I suppose that user mostly wants to either unsubscribe the feed or correct the feed link to be alive. Assigned to Rusty to review whether a change is needed. |
