| Description | Send To Context Menu have long loading in case recursive show is enabled on Folders eg. till all content is loaded. This especially problematic when user is browsing NAS devices where showing folder content of shared NAS resource can take 10+ minutes. Disabling recursively show content, make Send to show immediately Expected behavior is that default content is shown ASAP and and that rest is loaded in background. Step to reproduce: Enable recursive folder show -> Browse folders -> Network -> NAS -> Right click Music -> Send to -> LOADING ..... | ||||

Can you elaborate what do you mean by this: >>Expected behavior is that default content is shown ASAP and and that rest is loaded in background.<< What do you mean by "default content" ? I think that MM5 needs to load whole content to be able to send it. BTW: For moving whole folder without loading its content you can right-click it in the folder grid > Send to > ... image-2.png (17,214 bytes) |

BTW Could be resolved by Barry's suggestion to not make the "recursive" button state sticky ( 0018909 ) + points at https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=495755#p495755 Which is a good point IMO. In MM4 it also was not a global sticky option and user had to always click 'All' subnode to list files from all subfolders. |

Fixed in 2611 together with 0018909 i.e. "Display folder content recursively" button state is no loger sticky/global. Let's collect feedback on this change... |

After reviewing practicality of the new non-sticky behaviour of the Recursive button, I think that the current change is too severe, and will probably be unpopular. Test: * List by Album View * navigate to an artist folder ... turn Recursive on * navigate to a different Artist folder ... recursive is auto turned off ==> unlikely to be expected nor desired, and since any artist folder will be relatively small, it delivers no benefit either Could the auto-turn off be enacted in the following circumstances only: 1. Navigation which **changes to** the Folders or Location nodes ... ie. navigation from somewhere else, which effectively is the start of navigation "session" within a specific Location|Folder node 2. Navigation, during a Location|Folder "session" which changes to a different disk root ... ie. to a different disk drive, or to a different network share I think that this will be less disruptive, and easier to understand, and sill deliver the benefits that were the aim of the change. |
