1) The current workflow is fine: delete the existing image and look up a new one. Keeping the image search button would be confusing because the user might not realize that looking up an image would replace the existing image. BUT, we could add this functionality if we modified the workflow so that a 'Save' button must be clicked to commit the looked up image.

EDIT: after further thought (based on case 4) below), I agree with Peke's original idea that both Delete and Lookup buttons should be available when artwork already exists in order to satisfy the usecase of a user looking up an image and then desiring an alternate image to be looked up.

2) A prompt to delete isn't required. BUT, I agree that MMA shouldn't flash the text that appears.

3) That's a good point. In MMA 1.x, so many users weren't aware that tapping an image causes the shuffle indicator to appear, and we're taking the same approach in MMA 2.x for Artwork management. Martin, would it be easy to display an ellipsis on the corner of the artwork, with options for Lookup image / Delete image / Lookup settings (the ellipsis could change color depending on the color of the image). This would have the additional benefit of clarifying what the 'Garbage' (delete) icon does (some users might think that it deletes the track rather than just the artwork).

4) When the user manually looks up an image in the art view, most users would think that it persists, however, if the user examines the track's properties one can see that the artwork was _not_ saved! I would suggest that either:
a) it should work like MMW in which there's an 'unsaved' artwork status which is propagated to all views of the artwork for a track (i.e. the artwork is cached, but the tag isn't updated). This would be cosistent with MMW, but I suspect that it would be a lot of work
b) it should automatically save (for manually looked up tracks). This is probably what most users expect.
c) it should present the user with options to Cancel/Lookup alternate/Save. This would be consistent with automatically looked up artwork (if the setting is to not save the lookup to the DB), but is probably needlessly complicated, since there are already 'Delete'/'Lookup' buttons (see 1) ).

1b) As requested at https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=103283 , for 'Unsaved artwork' it would be useful if the user could just swipe down to refresh the artwork.

5) In the Properties dialog, the workflow should be similar. i.e. if there's no artwork, it should be possible to lookup artwork.
