Zvezdan is probably right that it is too agressive and requires accepting UAC prompt on first MM5 run. However disabling it by default would result in showing the "Windows Security Alert" dialog that creates the blocking rules when user just cancels the dialog. Then enabling the MM firewall exception deletes the blocking rules (details in 0018264:0064524 ) Assigned to Rusty to decide about the default value. |

It _is_ surprising when the user sees the UAC / Firewall prompts without understanding why. Preferable behavior would be that on first run, in the Setup Wizard's 'Share media' screen, there should be: [x] Add Windows firewall exception And when the user clicks [Next] --> the UAC/Firewall prompts appear (and the user understand why they're seeing it). |

Sounds good, added the '[x] Add Windows firewall exception' to the 'Share media' screen of the Welcome Wizard in build 5.0.4.2664 To test this temporarily rename: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey5 --> C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey5.off |
