Summary | 0019478: Auto-tag: AA lookup causes MediaMonkey to grab focus from other apps / from MM internal controls
Description | The auto-tag dialog is designed to allow the user to edit metadata as tracks are being looked up, however, atm, the lookup process interferes with the user's ability to do so: 1 Select 50 tracks without artwork and initiate auto-tag 2 As artwork is being looked up, click the Album field for a given track in order to choose an alternate album --> Alternate albums appear in the combobox, but as soon as another image is looked up (whether in the Auto-tag dialog OR the Playing dialog), the combo box closes by itself! EDIT: The issue is worse than originally described: on every lookup, MediaMonkey grabs focus from whatever other app the user is using!

Unable to replicate, Sent video to Petr and to Rusty if I missed his steps. |

2675 fixes the problem with grabbing focus from internal controls, but it still grabs focus from external apps (which is much worse). The good news about the bug is that it now occurs consistently (tested clean portable installs, upgraded portable installs) |
|
Note: In this case, when MM steals keyboard input, it does so without moving MM to the foreground (and if MM is already in the foreground, then whatever the user continues typing doesn't appear anywhere, presumably because no input field is active in the auto-tag dialog). |

Retested with build 2822 and this is still occurring. I'm able to replicate this with the album from 0005401:0017221 . What I'm observing after initiating auto tag for that album is that as I type in another app, MM periodically interrupts keyboard input. e.g. if I type 'The weather for today is sunny with cloudy periods', the following might appear: 'The weather for ty is sunny with cloudy periods'. |
