Summary | 0019581: ALAC converted to FLAC shows length one second shorter
Description | Debugging some issues in [Ticket # 5050] user sent me sample ALAC file that has length 9.867 seconds (MM5 shows length 0:10) but upon converting to FLAC the resulted length is just 0:09 EDIT: That resulted FLAC has still 9.867 seconds (so no audio is cut off), it's just the length info in MM5 that is incorrect. Sample file attached as link in the private note. Note that this one second discrepance results in a playback issue on Denon equipment, there is already workaround when MM5 is the controller, but exhibits the issues when HEOS app is the controller and the suspicious is the length discrepance between original and auto-converted file.

Original file has length 9.867s, converted FLAC file has 9.867s, it does not seem, anything is missing in audio. |
Note that resulted FLAC has still 9.86 seconds (so no audio is cut off), it's just the length info in MM5 that is incorrect. |
Note that there doesn't seem to be a standard how to show the length, some players shows 0:09 and some 0:10 Anyhow MM5 should unify this and always show either 0:09 or 0:10 for all formats. |
Fixed in build 2800. There was unintended cut of the decimal part of the length in FLAC parser. |
