Summary | 0019651: Grid views: Metadata overlay obscures too much artwork for some users (regression)
Description | Some users have indicated that the metadata that overlays Artwork on grid views is too overbearing. In all cases but the Albums grid it's not a major issue since only 2 lines are taken and the metadata is different than what appears in the Artwork. But for the Albums grid: - It's 3 lines of metadata so it partially obscurs 1/3 of the cover - The metadata often repeats what can already be seen on the cover Possible changes would be to: 1) Change the default view slightly: a)Use slightly smaller text b) Combine the x-track(s) indicator with the Album Name e.g. AlbumName . . . (x) ArtistName 2) Give users the option of configuring this. e.g. Views Album grid: show metadata as overlay | show metadata between images | don't show metadata The second approach is probably more useful, but it's kind of a hack (i.e. why is this view configurable but no others are)
