Testing this and when Right panel is disabled MM5 still auto-show the right-panel / preview on video playback starts. Supposing this logic is correct then I guess that solution A) should be chosen. i.e. Disable closing of the side panel while a video is playing On the other hand more expected approach would be B) Switch video to full window when user closes side panel IMHO |

It is expected behavior related to 0017520. Closing panel with video is the same as closing window with video in any other player -> stops playback. Other solutions sound weird to me. When starting playing video we temporarily open panel for video, so it can be played. Assigning to Rusty to decide, but I think current solution is best and most consistent. |

I think that the current behavior or option A is fine for YouTube videos. BUT, if the user is playing videos that aren't from YT, then the expected behavior would be that audio should continue playing even when the panel is collapsed (c). |

Fixed in build 3041, standard video now does not stop playing after closing panel with video. YT video works as before, as it cannot be changed due to Google guidelines. |

1) YouTube stops playing on 3041 when the side panel is closed as it's designed to do. However, when the side panel is re-enabled the Preview shows the thumbnail and no option to play/pause (which is present when video is playing. 2) When closing the Side Panel Preview takes longer to disappear. It'd look better if it disappeared with the Side Panel. Regular videos keep playing as designed on 3041. image.png (169,748 bytes) |

1) I am not sure what you are talking about, you can simply press Play button on Player control, as always. Window with stopped YT video is not displayed there, it never was, it would disable ability to display anything in Preview panel. Playing video contains YT controls (play/pause), these are not handled by us, they are part of Google YT player. |

Closing fixed in build 3042. Video window is now closed together with panel without delay. |

I tried also improve 1) - used Pause instead of Stop and adjusted handling. Now closing panel with YT video pauses this video instead of stopping it, and after reopening panel it still shows video and allows continuing of playback. Maybe this will work better for user, we will see. |

Both verified on 3042. YouTube pauses now, video window closes together with panel. |
