Summary | 0020475: "Limit" controls in Auto-playlist editor don't have good flow, noticable when it is narrow
Description | First of all, when the "Limit to" check box is turned off, all related controls should be disabled, which includes the following text box and the dropdown (files/MBs/mins); maybe also "Select by:" dropdown (honestly, I don't know what is it used for, but I suppose it is related to the Limit check box and has not effect if the Limit is turned off). If "Select by" is not related to Limit check box, it should not be displayed in the same row anyway. It is a common practice in standard programs that the related controls are disabled when their "parent" option is turned off. Secondly, to prevent bad flow of controls when the editor is too narrow: 1) files/MBs/mins dropdown should be horizontally reduced; 2) the text box and that dropdown should be put in the next row, but having such indentation to be aligned with the text "Limit by"; 3) the "Select by" label and its related dropdown should be put in the third row, with the same indentation as the previous (if that option is really related to the Limit check box.

1) Is smaller on 2828 2) No indent is observed on 2828 3) Confirmed on 2828 4) [NEW] On upgrade the existing AutoPlaylist with Limit to enabled shows all options greyed out and disabled (only observed on the first AutoPlaylist checked. After disabling/enabling, it works correctly on this and other AutoPlaylists too. |

If the tracklist is very narrow and the files/MBs/mins dropdown flows into the second row, it should be aligned to the "Limit to" text. Actually, all controls that are related to the Limit check box should be indented and aligned to the "Limit to" text. There is another issue when the tracklist is very narrow, the plus icon button next to the "of the following criteria" is not visible. Maybe it could flow into the next row together with that text, but I suppose it would be too complicated to get with such narrow window since many other controls wouldn't be visible in such case. |
