Summary0021144: MultiMonitor: fixed-size dialogs may appear larger than the screen size
DescriptionAt https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=105894 , a user has reported that some fixed size dialogs (e.g. Properties, Add/Rescan) appear larger than the size of the monitor, making it difficult to use those functions.

Petr indicated that at 0021141 a similar issue occurred for the MM window when it's opened on the non-primary display (after start), min and max size were incorrectly set (causing a problem that when user moved that window to primary monitor, window cannot be resized). Perhaps something similar is occurring in this case?

Note: the user has indicated that this issue is still occurring with build 3043. I've asked them to confirm whether it still occurs in 3044.

I'm seeing a variant of this in build 3049:
1 Start MMW on monitor (2560 x 1080, 100%)
--> MMW main window and Properties dialog display correctly
2 Open laptop screen (extended mode| laptop screen 2240 x 1400, 100% / monitor: 3440 x 1440, 100%)
--> MMW window renders correctly BUT
3 Right click on a track
--> Context menu appears as a black screen! (try submenus if you don't see this right away)
4 CTRL-ALT-P
--> Properties dialog renders correctly
5 Close laptop screen
--> MMW renders correctly on monitor (2560 x 1080, 100%)
6 Right-click > Properties
--> Properties dialog opens larger than the vertical amount of space available on the screen AND the Restore/Close buttons in the upper right corner don't function! Note: It appears to be sized exactly the size of the screen but the taskbar obscures the OK/Cancel buttons.
7 Attempt to resize the dialog
--> It can't be changed!

Note:
- Surprisingly, manually changing the screen resolution (at steps 2 and 5) instead of opening/closing the laptop screen doesn't trigger the bug!
- Restarting MM (e.g. at step 2.5 or step 5.5) solves the problems

Tested this in build 3051 and:
- the issues at step 3 is partially resolved. Context menu appears, but submenus appear in black (e.g. 'Send-to' displays, but the submenus of 'Send to' appear black).
- the issue at step 6 is resolved -- EDIT: it's not resolved--test error.

Tested 3052, and all issues are resolved, except for issue 3. i.e.
1 Start MMW on monitor (2560 x 1080, 100%)
--> MMW main window and Properties dialog display correctly
2 Open laptop screen (extended mode| laptop screen 2240 x 1400, 100% / monitor: 3440 x 1440, 100%)
--> MMW window renders correctly BUT
3 Right click on a track
--> Context menu appears as a black screen!

Interestingly the bug doesn't occur if a context menu is opened between steps 1 and 2! e.g.
1 Start MMW on monitor (2560 x 1080, 100%)
--> MMW main window displays correctly
1.5 Right-click on a track
--> Context menu displays correctly
2 Open laptop screen (extended mode| laptop screen 2240 x 1400, 100% / monitor: 3440 x 1440, 100%)
--> MMW window renders correctly BUT
3 Right click on a track
--> Context menu appears correctly!

Similarly when dragging the window back and forth between monitors:
Case I:
1 Start MMW on monitor (2560 x 1080, 100%)
--> MMW main window displays correctly
2 Open laptop screen (extended mode| laptop screen 2240 x 1400, 100% / monitor: 3440 x 1440, 100%)
--> MMW window renders correctly
3 Drag MM window from Monitor to Laptop
5 Drag MM window from Laptop to Monitor
6 Right-click on a track
--> Context menu appears as a black box!

Case II (variant in which opening the context menu stops the bug from occurring):
1 Start MMW on monitor (2560 x 1080, 100%)
--> MMW main window displays correctly
2 Open laptop screen (extended mode| laptop screen 2240 x 1400, 100% / monitor: 3440 x 1440, 100%)
--> MMW window renders correctly
3 Drag MM window from Monitor to Laptop
4 Right click on a track
--> Context menu appears correctly
5 Drag MM window from Laptop to Monitor
6 Right-click on a track
--> Context menu displays correctly
