| Description | Playlists sync of Selected options fail to create playlists on Device If use selectively select some Artist/Albums/Folders for Sync and enable that option in Sync Profile, then after sync those playlists are not created on Device. Purpose is to create Playlists of Selected folders. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1. In device profile only Select one folder under Music -> Location 2. In Sync Profile -> Playlists Select Sync Playlists and Selected Node Folders. 3. Do a WiFi Sync -> No reports that any playlists are synced 4. No new playlists are created on Device | ||||

This doesn't occur for physically connected devices, which is what this functionality is intended for (i.e. primarily USB keys or older MTP devices). In other words, the bug isn't that it doesn't work, it's that the functionality is exposed for Android devices. I'm not sure if there's any way of fixing this, though, since there's no way of knowing prior to synchronization that a device is an Android device. |

As talked offline it is only related to WIFi Sync Which means no other devices except Android MMA, while it works when Device is connected over USB (as MTP Device) it is very useful for some users. eg. Some users do not have sorted tags yet and use location for syncing (folder organized) and would like to have Playlists with content of such folders. Problem arises with Android Auto can't play tracks based on folders, but can play/browse playlists so this approach is useful for them quickly access Artists/Albums/Location(folder structure) and play desired content. I guess this needs to be reviewed and redesigned like you pointed, taking note that only MMA is capable to sync wirelessly so it is known that device is Android based. |

Yes, I can confirm that auto-generated playlists (from selected artist/album/folders nodes) have never been synced over Wi-Fi, this stands from MM4 times.. We could add this functionality in a future version if that's a commonly requested, but seems like it's rather minor issue not requested by users so far.. |
