 I think this is expected for the 'Grid (by Album)' view, especially as it is sorted by [Album, Album Artist] and there is no '#' column...

It was always like this as AFAIR this 'Grid (by Album)' view in playlists isn't used mych and was rather requested by some "album based users" for auto-playlists view..
