Summary | 0002197: When no writable CD/DVD drive is present, the table on the burn settings page is empty!
Description | I found the critical bug. When no writable CD/DVD drive is present on the computer then the burn settings page is empty - no drive and no burning speed can be selected and after clicking 'Burn' button, nothing happens! It could be related with problem described here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6591 and described in 0001967 In this case I suggest on button 'Next' click show a small error dialog: 'No writable drive is present, you cannot burn any CD/DVD on this computer!' instead of showing the burn settings page.

This looks good though I'd suggest a small modification. When the user clicks 'Next' just show the regular dialog BUT: -In the 'Disk/Drive Type' box, the Drive type indicates 'None' and all other fields are empty -In the status bar, indicate: Error: No writable drive! -Disable the burn button If this is too difficult, we can implement a dialog as you originally suggested, though I think the above is cleaner, providing better context for the user. Text for a dialog could be 'No writable drive was detected; you cannot burn CDs/DVDs on this computer!' |

btw, the problem described at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6591 and http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6487 is completely different. It relates to the fact that in some cases the burn speed indicator becomes blank after several second even on machines that support CD/DVD burning. |

Ok, no prob. Suggested by You: -In the 'Drive Type' box, the Drive type indicates 'None' and all other fields are empty. -In the status bar, indicated: Error: No writable drive! -Disabled the burn button Fixed in build 919. |
