| Description | First of all, I would like to repeat what I mentioned in 0020505, that I think it would be best if all panels have title bars, including 'Playing' and Tree, with the close button on the right side. Such title bars would allow most intuitive and faster way for users to choose the position of panels, and even to make them undocked, as it is possible in many applications including Photoshop. But, if you prefer the current solution with Layout page in the Options dialog box, I have two new suggestions how you could rearrange the existing controls to make them more visibly similar to the main window layout. The first suggestion has the existing Available elements group and it would be based on drag&drop of elements as it is now. The second suggestion do not have the Available elements group, but all groups (Left/Right/Top/...) have included all elements that are possible for them. That means, Top, Bottom, and Main panel (bottom) would display Player element, and Left and Right panel would display all 4 possible panels (Tree, 'Playing', Preview, Lyrics). If user checks e.g. Playing check box in Top group, the related check box in the Bottom and Main panel (bottom) would be unchecked. Similarly should work for the Left and Right panels and their elements. The position of elements in the Left and Right panels would be determined by Up/Down buttons. I think the second suggestion is better because it has clearly displayed which elements are allowed for which panel. So, the users wouldn't try to drop Player element to the Left/Right panel when it is not possible. Or, to drop Tree element to Top/Bottom. | ||||
