Summary | 0002849: Some MP3 files cause MM to crash
Description | Some MP3 files cause MM3 to crash either via playback, transcoding, volume analysis. Posting such a file to the ftp server. note: user reported that this file caused multiple instances of decoder.exe to run. On my machine MM simply crashed.

I tried to reproduce it with MM 2.5.5 and MM 3.0, but couldn't. Is it specific to MM 3.0? Isn't it a problem related to installed Windows mp3 decoder, does the file play in WMP? |

Fixed in build 1021. - I'm not sure if it's the same issue, possibly not, but I reproduced some problem on a mp3 that Petr got from a user. I fixed in_wmp3.dll so that mp3s that start with a long block of zeroes play well now. - I also realized that we no longer need in_dsmp3.dll. It was originally used to play mp3 that in_wmp3.dll can't play, like those with some long ID3v2 tags. However, these issues should be resolved now in in_wmp3.dll and so another input plug-in makes more bad than good - so I removed it from installer. |
